For caregivers and families of loved ones with
Dravet syndrome or Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS)
SOLUTION
The ONWARD® patient support program simplifies the patient journey with tools and resources to support caregivers, healthcare providers, and office staff, making it easier for patients to get, start, and stay on treatment.
For caregivers, the care team is available 12 hours a day, 5 days a week to better accommodate the needs of caregiver schedules—when they need ONWARD, it’s there.
FINTEPLA Clinical Nurse Educators (CNEs) will help answer questions, prepare caregivers for conversations with healthcare providers, discuss FINTEPLA data, talk about the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS), and educate on financial support programs.
For families in which the patient is on FINTEPLA, a dedicated Care Coordinator is assigned to review insurance, provide treatment reminders and expectations, and work with healthcare providers and office staff to personalize the treatment plan.
Challenge
When you’re a caregiver for someone with Dravet syndrome or LGS, there really is no downtime. Unpredictable seizures keep you always on alert and that keeps you from sleeping. If the patient isn’t mobile, they’re relying on you to carry them and assist with many basic activities of daily living.
The threat of the next seizure and the possibility of an emergency situation creates immense, unrelenting stress. Given the physical, emotional, and financial toll of Dravet syndrome and LGS, it’s easy to see why caregivers need all the help and support they can get.

INSIGHT
The around-the-clock challenges of caring for someone with Dravet syndrome or LGS make a helping hand a lifeline.
ONWARD recognizes the need to help caregivers navigate a difficult disease.
OBJECTIVE
The ONWARD Patient Support Program helps patients get, start, and stay on treatment by providing tools and resources for caregivers, healthcare providers, and office staff.

EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS ON REMS AND ECHOCARDIOGRAMS
The FINTEPLA REMS was designed with your loved one’s safety in mind. It requires that they have heart checkups (echocardiograms) once before starting treatment with FINTEPLA, again every 6 months during treatment, and once 3-6 months after their last dose. This helps manage potential safety concerns.

AT-HOME ECHO PROGRAM
Helping eligible patients and their families comply with FINTEPLA safety monitoring
At UCB, we strive to make the FINTEPLA REMS as accessible as possible. That’s why we’ve established a network of sonographers who can travel to eligible families unable to access an echocardiogram (echo) facility due to their geographic location or disease-related limitations.
